Now already by the title I assume that most all gamers who are reading this know what upcoming title I am talking about. If not...well you are in for a real treat, especially if you are into games that will literally make you crap your pants or want to hit the power button. Allison Road is an upcoming first person survival horror video game for the Microsoft Windows. It is considered to be a spiritual successor to the playable teaser for cancelled video game Silent Hills. The game is supposedly being developed fan-based, by a new Indie Gaming group out of the UK called Lilith Ltd. Its is being developed using the Unreal Engine 4 and projected to be released sometime next year, probably
closer to the Fall. Now that all that literature crap is out of the way, lets get to my opinion and the actual experience that I felt I had. Now there is a 13 to 14 minute demo video out right now, and you can view it on their Facebook or their YouTube(or just look on my current Spot Light game). And the demo video was told to be not actual video that you will see in the game, mainly because they don't want to ruin the story, but to show all the game mechanics that are in the actual game. Now I really don't want to spoil it for the people who haven't watched the video but I do want to share my experience watching it. There is no background music, so the mood isn't spoiled, but it is a quiet atmosphere as to let you hear every little noise that comes across your ear drums. You can hear every foot step you make, hear every door knob you turn, hear the kitchen sink turn on and off, and hear knocking on doors that grab at your attention and a women screaming silently.....spoiled a little, but not too much. Capture your interest yet? You can interact with everything(or at least he who played did) and your character talks to himself for every little thing that reminds him about something. Your character even tells you when he needs a drink and when he needs to use the bathroom. Talk about realism. There are times during this video that if you had the controller in your hands you would be hesitant to open the damn doors! You are tingling the whole time you watch the video because as every second goes by you feel like something is watching you and getting closer and closer, so you feel uneasy, yet anxious, and so you push on to watch the rest. And right as your grabbing at your shirt and firmly focused on the computer monitor, the climax ....SCARES THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF YOU.....and then the screen turns black and makes you WANT MORE. Those who haven't watched the video, you are welcome, those that have, I'm sure you are just as impatient as I am to wanting this game to be released. Guess we will have to wait and see when and where. As of right now the only consoles that have been hinted for release are PC(Windows) and VR Headsets. I don't know if the title is going to be coming to PS4, Xbox, or NX(got you wondering I know!), but if I find out anything I will sure to let you know. Honestly you can just check their Facebook because they post updates all the time so have at it! This is the first time, in a long time, that a game has someone on the edge of their seat. The game has all the right pieces to create the ultimate horror game, and we deserve one since the last decent game that came out was the Indie title Outlast, and that was ok, but nothing in the sense of this. The best part of this title, is it makes you feel like YOU ARE the main character, and like YOU ARE the one that is being focused on. Not many games out there can make you act the way a title like this can to every little action that you make. I for one(and probably millions more) am excited for this title, and hope there is more to come, like a possible playable demo. But until then, wait, and wait, hope and we will see what happens.
